I have a client running SUSE 10.2 with madwifi on a Belking Wireless
Desktop G card. Thus far everything seems to work just fine.
The client is connected to an AP and I want to know the rssi, data rate,
packet size, type etc. of each packet *received* by the client. I am not
not looking into setting the card into monitor mode to capture any packet
seen on the air. What is the best way to do this?
I tried using kismet but when I open the dump files using wireshark, I
cannot see any of the above mentioned details that I'd want to see. I did
lookup the MadWifi wiki which suggests setting /proc/sys/net/ath0/dev_type
to 802 but isn't this only for monitor mode? I did try this as well but it
doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
