first, I am a complete WLAN newbie, so excuse me when not everything is
correct I write.
So here we go: we are developping an embedded system which should feature WLAN
connectivity. One of the options for the operating system is the RTOS eCos
(http://ecos.sourceware.org). Now for eCos we would need an 802.11b stack.
Some time ago somebody already ported the FreeBSD TCP/IP stack to eCos, so
porting must be doable.
So here come my questions:
-supported devices: all Atheros chips, e.g. also the cardbus devices, right ?
-I've seen that the driver exists both for Linux and for FreeBSD. So, is there
already some kind of OS-abstraction in the madwifi driver somewhere ?
-should it work on a little endian ARM based processor ?
-are there any docs about the implementation somewhere available, how the code
is organized, etc. ?
Thanks for any hints
