Before I start using MADWIFI, I'd like to know if it suits my needs:
- can I put the card in a monitor mode, i.e. receive all frames (including
control and management frames) on a specific channel in raw format
(including the MAC header)?
- can I send raw frames - i.e. any user-created frames (data, control,
management, invalid frames)?
The best solution would be to put a card with an Atheros chipset into a some
kind of promiscuous mode, where I can receive all frames and at the same
time inject frames (as can be done using the Airjack driver and Prism
I need to create such a system for testing purposes, and MADWIFI would be
perfect because it supports 802.11 a,b and g. I'd like to use the drivers
from my own user-space program. BTW, briefly scanning the code I haven't
seen any support for any socket interface - is it there (and I haven't
notived), or if not, how user-space programs can send/receive frames using
Thanks in advance,
