Hi 2008/4/18, Frederik Eaton <fre...@a5...>: > Hello, > > I have just purchased a black MacBook. I was able to install Debian > from CD, but I cannot read a CD in Linux. In addition, the CD was recognized as an audio CD even though no CD was present in the device. As a temporary fix, you can modprobe -r ide-cd, which will disable your optical device and stop polluting your logs. The problem disappeared when I recompiled the 2.6.24 kernel provided in Debian with mactel-patches applied but I'm not sure what fixed it. If needed, I can give you my .config when I get my hands on my computer. I am not 100% happy yet with my config though... Someone on this thread: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=16851&view=next&sid=6af93eb2cb5b9fcc448e079f0b7c3142 said that the scsi-cd drivers are deprecated. Are they? Mathieu |
