Hi As Marty mentioned the state of translations in another posting I thought I'll get back with the actual numbers, the freeze period has not been really a good freeze because strings have changed =( I think we could get ja, ar, da, es, hu, id, it, pl, pt, sv, uk, ur, ur_PK, fr and sk done for a release. It would be good if translators from the following could notify that they are willing to go for the next release: nl, ms, el, sl, pt_BR, hr, eu, de, af, ru, fi, zh_TW, cs, zh_CN, et (I could contact them if they have addresses in the po files or there are some address in Pootle) Marty (or some other dev(s) have the final call. Settle on a date at least 7-10 days in to the future for the trasnlators to work with. As of today (1440 CEST (UTC+2)) the numbers are these. ja 299 0 0 100,00% ar 298 1 0 99,67% da 298 1 0 99,67% es 298 1 0 99,67% hu 298 1 0 99,67% id 298 1 0 99,67% it 298 1 0 99,67% pl 298 1 0 99,67% pt 298 1 0 99,67% sv 298 1 0 99,67% uk 298 1 0 99,67% ur 298 1 0 99,67% ur_PK 298 1 0 99,67% fr 297 2 0 99,33% sk 296 1 2 99,00% nl 277 17 5 92,64% ms 262 27 10 87,63% el 260 19 20 86,96% sl 259 36 4 86,62% pt_BR 253 33 13 84,62% hr 247 37 15 82,61% eu 246 36 17 82,27% de 244 34 21 81,61% af 237 34 28 79,26% ru 231 53 15 77,26% fi 224 36 39 74,92% zh_TW 186 46 67 62,21% cs 184 44 71 61,54% zh_CN 165 55 79 55,18% et 161 54 84 53,85% ko 58 44 197 19,40% fa 0 0 299 0,00% gl 0 0 299 0,00% lt 0 0 299 0,00% ml 0 0 299 0,00% nb 0 0 299 0,00% nn 0 0 299 0,00% ps 0 0 299 0,00% tr 0 0 299 0,00% vi 0 0 299 0,00% (the percentage column only reflects done/total). -- /brother http://frakalendern.se Bruce Schneier eats 0s and 1s for breakfast. That's good. We are still fighting with a few last bugs on the engineering side, so we are not waiting specifically for translation. Does it count as a string change that upsets your work if I reuse a string that is already there? |

It should be "transparent", but beware that some languages use different words based on context, where english sometimes uses the same word with slightly different meaning (think of "get"... ). As for me, just let us know when the strings DB is "complete" and give us some days before release to finish translations. Bye. |

On Sat, 18 Jul 2009, Martin Bagge wrote: Good work! And by adding the usual number of speakers for each language we cover 1.476 million native speakers (that includes English). One could only dream about the number for secondary languages! If we an get some updates from thos in close range it would add another 250 million speakers. Idonesian (id) Portugese (pt) Urdu (ur, ur_PK) French (fr) (added in CC for alert) If someone reading this are willing to do updates in the languages below 90% done (there is an empty line just before) please drop a note to the ML telling us so, as we are approaching a release it would be sad to release just before a update was put in the archive. > As of today (1440 CEST (UTC+2)) the numbers are these.
