There are two things needed to do. ex. I wnat to launch network manager to connect wireless or wire netwrok First, you need to modify the file - /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/default original content is lxde-settings smproxy xscreensaver -no-splash openbox --config-file $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/openbox/lxde-rc.xml lxpanel --profile LXDE pcmanfm -d *nm-applet* and you can add what you want like the word with blue color(or you can see the word with bold and italic). Then, you need to modify the file - etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart original content is @lxde-settings @lxpanel --profile LXDE @pcmanfm -d *@**nm-applet* and you can add wha you want life the word with blue color(or you can see the word with bold and italic) Then you can launch network manager when enter LXDE desktop environment. It is basic procedure to start applications on startup of LXDE. Alternatively, it is enough to put application desktop file in your ~/.config/autostart folder to autostart application on LXDE start. Same thing you can do with Network Manager. I agree that LXDE network manager is still not polished and needa some development work.
