Hi I have just joined this mailing list, and LXDE's pootle translation page so I can help translate LXDE into Australian English (en_AU). I have already translated MATE and XFCE through Transifex and am the en_AU team coordinator for Gnome (not much happened there yet though). Is it possible for someone to create an Australian English (en_AU) team so I can translate LXDE in Australian English (en_AU) using Pootle? If you need to know anything about my efforts please look at my website http://cobberlinux.wordpress.com/ or just ask me. Cheers. K3lt01 (Michael). |

I have a Pootle account called k3lt01. "Hi I have just joined this mailing list, and LXDE's pootle translation page so I can help translate LXDE into Australian English (en_AU). Please read the quoted section below I haven't seen your first email. This one did however reach me fine. > Is it possible for someone to create an Australian English (en_AU) > team so I can translate LXDE in Australian English (en_AU) using > Pootle? It is certainly possible to add en_AU but do we want to? Is the difference between en, en_GB (!) and en_AU that great? As much as I love to have a broad audience of the translated components I also feel a bit reluctant towards carrying three English versions, having the current two I am not really sure of even. Can you describe the differences that warrants the addition of en_AU in regards to just keeping 'en' (or 'en_GB') in a good state? We have dropped most Spanish translations as they add little to no data (other than bitrot) to the repos. Another thing I would like to see is updates to the standard 'en' parts of the components. Most (if not all) developers are native in another language than English and the strings most probably need to be aligned from time to time. Sorry for the late response, I've been away for the last week and before that I didn't get the message for some unknown reason. - -- brother http://sis.bthstudent.se -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.15 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Icedove - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJScM1mAAoJEJbdSEaj0jV7LdUH/jEHaQj85MQEQEVHbIMD0W4v KKLTD6SD/sXYF/bz1qChKhtjTYZX1GcJ7JxX4iIgNgsRVkqyw/PHeSs/v43iLcc5 pynLLD3C8a08JYm7+AuDD9hcvDMC/k01GLHHzO03wM2fJwn+A1T1KeQEz5lfBLv6 87MQ5xQDsYLqQXBs8qZoHunHnDhEIIvnalXTSVkHrrHsLyWOrU9TFZmtFWLLxVfr O66CnwC9t4ZKlq92B/0V7e8Jwkv7t0wya7oFaK2XDC7v2APgEpGOV6JMZQy4zMOC Odrl7ZOuGGbPY3m6YfrRyUfulNC6X1k5plDxRXWqdxhQHA4M1wpcL+89J96ODjA= =50j7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
