Ladies and Gentleman, PSU Lush 1.2 is out: ftp://ftp.cs.pdx.edu/pub/psu-lush/psu-lush-1.2.tar.gz New features in version 1.2 --------------------------- * A facility for managing namespaces (see "namespaces") * A facility for organizing multiple windows on screen (see "tiling") * An iterator datatype and initial iterator library (see "iterable") * many more minor additions and language changes Lush & PSU Lush --------------- Lush is an object-oriented programming language designed for researchers, experimenters, and engineers interested in large-scale numerical and graphic applications. Lush is designed to be used in situations where one would want to combine the flexibility of a high-level, weakly-typed interpreted language, with the efficiency of a strongly-typed, natively-compiled language, and with the easy integration of code written in C, C++, or other languages. PSU Lush is a derivative of Lush and is maintained by lush programmers at Portland State University. It features an improved array API and other, additional language features. PSU Lush is not entirely backward compatible with Lush, but it is easy to adapt existing Lush code. Un-/known problems ------------------ o Not all Lush code under the packages directory was adapted to PSU Lush. Packages that we did adapt are: * OpenCV * OpenGL & GLUT * GSL & libnum (This list will get longer in upcoming releases. In the meantime we will gladly incorporate patches to other packages that users send us.) o We did not try to build PSU Lush on other platforms than Linux. Cheers, Ralf |
