ftpfs is not able to handle correctly all possible ftp
passwords

for instance I have an ftp password which contains '&'
somewhere in the middle

to avoid the shell expansion, you have to do:
lufsmount 'ftpfs://user:pas&ss@host' ...
when I do this the login to the ftp server is
successful, but later on when trying to mount, there is
an error:

[247f](main)executing lufsmnt ...
mount failed: No such device
[247d](main)lufsmnt failed!

this happens even though I see the right password in
the options line

I also tried running lufsmount without giving it the
password and typing it at the prompt. This time it was
not able to log into the server, it gave the truncated
version.
