About 2-3 wks. ago, I requested help re the W/Ss not booting up. Because
of some hardware problems w/my home system, I couldn't get back to the
list for a follow-up. Any way, the W/S(s) get the usual rom messages,
they show the IP address(es),
and then booting the kernel...and that's where it ends, i.e., with a
bunch of dots. I've made sure that the tftp-server is installed,
however, using a suggestion that Jim M. gave me(netstat -anp | grep ":69
"), I get nothing, nada. I did run the same command against port 25 and
the system said it was listening. So...the tftp server is not running!
(even tho it's supposedly been activated)
Question: how do I get it started? I'm attaching two of the
files(dhcpd.conf and /etc/xinet.d/tftp) for analysis or ? The system is
a "stock" RH9.0 install, one gig of memory, one on-board NIC, and one
add-on NIC, 120-gig H/D, etc.
