We are trying to use GCOV on ARM-based target.

When we insmod the Kernel module on the target, .gcda files are not
created in the /proc/gcov folder, and also /proc/gcov/vmlinux file is
not updated at all.

What could be the possible cause of the issue ?

Please make sure to also apply the patch linux-2.6.25-gcov-arm-eabi.patch when you are compiling the Linux kernel using the EABI-compliant GCC from Codesourcery.
