I'm new to color profiling, but trying to learn more about it and get it setup on my Ubuntu 8.10 box to help with more accurate photo and video production. I read through some of the old posts, but because they are so old I wanted to know a more recent state of things.
The main thing I want to know is if the support for calibration using a hardware colorimeter (such as the EyeOne) is sufficiently good to warrant purchasing one. It seemed like it was still sub-par a couple years ago and I'm wondering if it's improved? If so, what would be the best 2 or 3 colorimeters to choose from that people have had good luck with?
Thanks in advance for the help...thanks to the dev team for developing this for Linux!
