Bonjour, I have downloaded the last svn version and got a directory named trunk ; inside there's another directory named trunk where there's a directory named muse and 2 files (Makefile, Makedist.sh). I'm completly confused about what to do. Usually, we have to do ./configure make and make install, but with muse there's autogen, cmake... So If someone can tell me how to get a muse program working from the sources, step by step, it would be very nice ! I use an ubuntu 7.10 thank to the helpers cordialement, |

in the directory with the Makefile enter "make". The compilation starts and creates a "build" directory. If all went well type "make install" and you are done. If you get an error, probably a missing library, install that library and start over with "make clean" and again "make". To upgrade to latest svn version enter "svn update" then go into the build directory and enter "make" and "make install". Not sure if the initial make spells it out but cmake 2.4.1 or newer is needed. I think the ubuntu installed one is ok. cmake (which is what kde uses nowadays also so you will probably see it all over the place in the future) creates a CMakeCache.txt in the build dir when it configures the build, I have sometimes needed to remove this file when restarting a build if the cmake step has not completed. It might be that I have a bit complex environment with several qt versions installed etc. Anyway, it's a suggestion if the configuration refuses to complete even if the problems are fixed. /Robert > > To upgrade to latest svn version enter "svn update" then go into the build directory > and enter "make" and "make install". > > Regards, > Werner > > "make > On Montag 25 Februar 2008, moebius wrote: >> Bonjour, >> >> I have downloaded the last svn version and got a directory named trunk ; >> inside there's another directory named trunk where there's a directory >> named muse and 2 files (Makefile, Makedist.sh). >> I'm completly confused about what to do. Well it seems to be a little bit more complicated : I've almost reach something doing that : execute sh Makedist.sh inthe last "trunk" directory (where there is a muse dierectory) ; it create a.tar.gz file and a directory called muse-2.0 ; then rename the muse directory in "muse.old" and create a muse directory and go into it ; type cmka ../muse-2.0 and it makes !!! But I've got an error : /trunk/trunk/muse-2.0/muse/revision.cpp:25: erreur: expected primary-expression before «;" token make[2]: *** [muse/CMakeFiles/muse.dir/revision.o] Erreur 1 make[1]: *** [muse/CMakeFiles/muse.dir/all] Erreur 2 make: *** [all] Erreur 2 Take a look at the file revision.cpp: //============================================================================= // MusE // Linux Music Editor // $Id:$ // // Copyright (C) 2008 by Werner Schweer and others // // This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify // it under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2. // // This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, // but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of // MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Hello again, Did you try just checking out the code and running make ? There are probably things to fix in the build system, building by running the make in the trunk dir should create a 'build' dir and proceed by creating the rest. The makedist.sh script may very well have errors at this moment, probably it should be removed. /Robert moebius wrote: > Well it seems to be a little bit more complicated : > > I've almost reach something doing that : > execute sh Makedist.sh inthe last "trunk" directory (where there is a > muse dierectory) ; it create a.tar.gz file and a directory called > muse-2.0 ; then rename the muse directory in "muse.old" and create a > muse directory and go into it ; type cmka ../muse-2.0 and it makes !!! > > But I've got an error : > /trunk/trunk/muse-2.0/muse/revision.cpp:25: erreur: expected > primary-expression before «;" token > make[2]: *** [muse/CMakeFiles/muse.dir/revision.o] Erreur 1 > make[1]: *** [muse/CMakeFiles/muse.dir/all] Erreur 2 > make: *** [all] Erreur 2 > > Take a look at the file revision.cpp: > > //============================================================================= > // MusE > // Linux Music Editor > // $Id:$ > // > // Copyright (C) 2008 by Werner Schweer and others > // > // This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify > // it under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2. > // > // This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, > // but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of > // MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Hello, please try current svn revision 346. I changed the build of file "revision.h" which for whatever reason seems to not be build in all cases. Bonjour, Thank for your great stuff It compiles nice now, but, even if the jack counter (in the qjckclt window) roll when clicking on play in muse, muse doesn't appears in the jack connect window ; isn't strange ? It would be great that the stop button acts differently : when clicking one time -> stop , a second time -> go to left locator, a third time -> go to beginning of the song (acts the same for shortcut) When clicking on punch in, it would be no need to click on record too to get track to be recorded when cursor reach left locator ; this would be the default behavior : if punch in is enabled then when reaching left locator the record button is automatically selected and the record of the track begins ; when you click on punch in, it's clear that you want to record, no need to specify a second time by clicking on record. also when cursor reach left locator, punch in would be disabled to prevent unintentional record a second time. Same behavior for punch out to : when cursor reach punch out, if punch out was enabled it would be disabled at this time Well, anyway, it's a great soft and I want to thank you a lot for your work (lot of time and effort I suppose) cordialement, Werner Schweer a écrit : > Hello, > > please try current svn revision 346.
