Hello World, Well, I always notice a problem when I want move a group of pattern (in main window) and notes (in pattern window). If I want move a big group of patterns - 'big' in this case is just 15 patterns :), Muse freeze, CPU goes to 100%. With a group of notes in a pattern window, it's SLOW ! very slow. There is like a sort of latency to put the group to a position. It's not very responsive... I know it should be hard to code a sequencer, so I sympathize for your work :) Stan. |

What compiler and distribution is this on? was muse built with any specific optimization flags? what version of qt? how fast is your computer? how long does it freeze? Last I tried copying parts and notes was indeed a bit slow, but not really a problem. Possibly we just have different requirements on responsiveness. Hi Robert, Uh Uh I forgot the informations... : > What compiler and distribution is this on? - Ubuntu Dapper - GCC 4 > was muse built with any specific optimization flags? I suppose no. I make a basic configure. > what version of qt? - Qt 3.3.3-6 > how fast is your computer? Ahtlon 1.8 grhz (2000+) > how long does it freeze? Euh.... I don't know. Nothing respond. Charge CPU is high to 100% and I must kill MusE. I retry a new compilation. Can you tell me what options I should add to the configure ? Some options are not clear for me. I use the obsolete realtime-lsm package to have Real Time. Stan. |

The options are unclear, they have morphed over time. If I build a standard MusE I would do: ./configure --enable-optimize --disable-debug But the problem you are seeing is not likely to be because of lack of optimizations. As I understood you it happens both when copying Parts and copying notes? Do you have a use case when it is possible to repeat the problem? Regards, Robert -- http://spamatica.se/musicsite/ |

How did > you create this icons ?? the file record_on.xpm has to define a char* with name *record_on_xpm[]. You can modify your xpm with a normal text editor, it should look like: /* XPM */ static const char * record_on_xpm[] =3D { "15 15 142 2", " c None", ". c #9B0500", =2E.. i cannot remember the origin of this "_xpm" suffix convention, its very old stuff.=20 /Werner |

Something very interesting in Muse, I see icons with differents width & height. Normally, we can find in linux software : 16*16 and/or 32*32 64*64 128*128. In Muse it's : 11*11 12*12 15*15 16*16 16*18 17*12 18*18 22*16 22*22 29*15 32*32 :) It's... original yes. Maybe I forgot some :-) Stan. |
