No

when I try to use the internal synt fluidsynth , add a instant, a window opens.
I can select my sf2 file, but then nothing happens, the window stays open, no file is loaded.
All rights on the file are set , even chmod 777 was done.
The same file is used in fluidsynth running externally.

Which synth are you using, fluid or fluidsynth?
fluid is more or less a proof of concept, need to make that more apparent.. I think it at one point had this error.
please try fluidsynth (the internal one)

If this doesn't help you, please tell me more about your system, what MusE version, self built or packaged?
also try running with -D to get more debug messages.

    Dear Robert !
Version muse: Linux Music Editor; Version 0.8.1
Linux is Debian Linux amilo 2.6.32-5-686 #1
I like to use the internal fluidsynth , tried SoftSynth Configuration with fluidsynth, add Instance, got
    name: fluidsynth-0 port: none
Select "Load" and choose my sf2 file in $home/somewhere all belonging to my user. Freeze. (The window with loaded softfont is named fluidsynth-1 , the instance was fluidsynt-0 ?? )
    Output od muse -aD :
    waldi@amilo:~/midi$ muse -aD

Running sudo muse -aD the window shows the sf2 file, but seems to load nothing .

I can touch a file in the directory of the sf2 file. It has mode 777 (and all the wy there is belonging to my user)
    Can't understand the difference.

    Hi,

It says version 0.8.1, is this really the version? Is the version in stable debian ?
It is very old, please try to find a package for 1.1 or I could guide you through compiling it yourself.

Sidenote: I have sent a mail to the debian maintainer see if we can help get a more recent version into the repositories.

Upgrading to a 1.1 or, even better, 2.0 will probably fix this. Setting to pending.
