sorry if this has been asked before, but I failed to find a reference in
I succsessfully compiled the 0.4.0-beta1 on a Gentoo 64bit system,
The plugin shows up, but as soon I try to load any VST .dll, LMMS
crashes with the message:
<unknown>: Fatal IO error 11 (Die Ressource ist zur Zeit nicht
verfügbar) on X server :0.0.
(from German: ressource currently unavailable)
I tested it with the free AZR3 and NI's FM4.
Is it possible at all to load 32bit VSTs into a 64bit LMMS?
Looks like Xorg doesn't like this.
Thanks and regards,

I thought so.

Really? Even Wine is 32bit?

This will be pain, as we'll need 32bit emul libs for all dependencies.
We have xlibs, alsa, jack and all that, but sndfile, fluidsynth etc are
not available (yet)
So a 32bit system/chroot it will have to be.
Or jackd + dssi-vst. Or a Windows VST host in Wine + WineASIO driver.
It works fine there (Wine part is 32bit compiled, jack part 64bit,
"connected" using semaphores).
And shouldn't VeSTige build be disabled on 64bit arches?
Thanks for info! :)

I don't have 64 bit here but it's been reported to work via 32-bit WINE so 32-
bit-VSTs should work well. All LMMS does, is compiling a 32-bit-win32-binary
which is run via WINE (and WINE runs programs independent of the platform it
runs on) and communicates via pipes. So I don't know the reason why it doesn't
work for you, maybe someone with 64-bit-system can help debugging here.
