Hey all! I just thought I should send some words of encouragement to the
dev list. This project looks to be the first Open Source project that
could eventually replace FLStudio as the host in my music studio.
Right now, FLStudio is the only reason that I have a windows computer at
all, and I will be a very happy person when that is no longer the case.
There's clearly much, much more work to be done on LMMS, but I see what
is already there as a really good start.
I am a C++ coder, and I would like to help by writing FX and generator
plugins, but as a student, my time is extremely limited. Is there a
source of documentation and/or a tutorial on how to get started writing
plugins? I could probably figure it out on my own, but as I said, my
time is limited.
Once again, thank you all for this project. It will be a significant
milestone for Linux as a desktop operating system when it is mature.

very good idea, let's praise the LMMS dev crew :-)
I'd also like to send some HUGE "Thank You!"s out, you guys are really doing
excellent work. LMMS is another killer app that was missing on Linux at all
(all the other synths/drummachines/etc are - imho - geekware and unusable for
the average user). I am using LMMS with some VST Plugins and it already works
nicely. Well, almost. But still, it's more than enough to make me happy :-)

A student with limited time?! You must be kidding :D

I agree, LMMS kicks butt!

LMMS in general has a few growth-related issues - it's still a little
unstable. But it's not a mature project yet, so that's normal so far.
