It depends on the goals of the compilation.  This is my take on the mastering situation...

If the goals are to showcase LMMS, the choice of which mastering software isn't necessarily important, as most cd quality tracks have been mastered by a separate professional using his/her favorite tool.

If the goal is to showcase free software, the title may be misleading, since one could create a track with purely open software and never use LMMS.

I for one would prefer my tracks were mastered by a professional prior to album release, and if any were worthy of making it to the album, I would want professional mastering to occur prior to release, regardless of the technology used.

So can we use tracks we've already produced? If so, I can submit a better, unmastered mix of Pendulum(the current one is mastered with Maximus from FL Studio and that doesn't count as free or open source), but if not I can commit my next track to this project. I can also get my group, Avelocity, to produce a track. :)

Another thing I can do is find promoters and submit the tracks to them if that's needed or wanted.

TOBIASZ: Sorry for the resend, I accidentally didn't do reply all ._.

I think it would be nice to stick to opensource - I'd do that in Ardour 2.
