It compiled fine, and runs good. But tried /login with my hotmail addy and it just says connected to dispatch server and sticks there. Any other commands say currently trying to log in.

    Any ideas?

    • You can try uncommenting line 357 in main.C to see exactly what is happening.

If that doesn't help, you can edit globalTypes.h and uncomment the #define DEBUG 2 line.

If you do this, you'll need to redirect stderr when running LMME. (./lmme 2>Debug_Output), then CTRL-C after your /login, then submit the entire Debug_Output data to me.

    • It seems as though the MSN servers are cutting off the connection before any message is sent through on the status of your login. This is odd.

Anyhow, make sure your password is correct. Case sensitive, etc. Make sure the format for login is :

      /login username@hotmail.com password
      or
      /login username@msn.com password

It looks as though you are doing that, just making sure. If you have another box to try it on, try it there.

That's the best I can do for now. The next release will have a far more advanced debugging mechanism.

I have the same problem, but it could be because I tested some other MSN clients.
But even the Microsoft Windows Messenger client can't connect thru the same connection.

(server lmme is on is acting as router)

Weird but true, maybe my account has to timeout or something?

    • I had the same problem!

Said it was connecting and then didn't do anything.  Could it be that MSN Servers are rejecting the agent in an attempt to force MSN members to use Windows? (dirty buggers!)

      Hi guys,
I had the same problem, but.....
If you change line 439 in msnLayerModule.C
      to read...
      Return = Add_Connection("messenger.hotmail.com", 1863, 0);

      (messenger.hotmail.com instead of 64.4.13.17)

      Everything works again!!!
Hope this is of some help,

      Thanks.
      GK

Has the MSN setup changed again? I orginally has the can not connect to dispatch error. Now it just says attempting to logon and gets no further. Firewall is OK as other Windows machines on this side login ok...
