There seems to be some misconception currently in the way dump headers
(common or architecture specific) get accessed: They are read from the
dump file into a buffer and then get used without byte order adjustment.
The question is whether the reading routines should do the byte swapping
(this is the way I would want to go) or whether the users of the reading
routines would have to do so.
