I'd like to have a way to use LIRC to recognize a given IR command and then send a series of other commands back out again. Mainly because I'd like to be able to continue using our very convenient Tivo RF remotes with our AVR setup. Having only one INPUT button on the remote poses no end of hassles when it comes to controlling multiple devices. Sure, I could 'teach' the remote a series of commands, but it's still madness when things get out of sync. I'm thinking I'll just program the remote to send a completely unlikely sequence on that button (input from some oddball TV). Then upon receiving this I'd have LIRC send out other IR and possible trigger some IP commands as well. So, I'm wondering, how readily LIRC could be used for this task? I realize it's not an out-of-the-box solution, and I'm prepared to script things as necessary. Thanks, -Bill Kearney |
