I've tried adding the entries into /etc/X11/xorg.conf as described in http://www.lirc.org/html/configure.html#lircmd.conf (couldnt get it to work). But then I came across the postings that imply I should try and configure the Hardware Abstraction Layer as xorg.conf is maybe not the latest way of doing things (I have fedora 10, kernel 2.6.27, and I do seem to have some HAL directories) But then I saw the note at the end of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=498580 that says the --uinput option of lircmd should be used (I'm guessing this would remove the need to have gpm running; nice and simple ?) But I think my FC10 is blocked from going higher than lirc 0.8.4: [root@asrock ~]# yum install lirc Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit Setting up Install Process lircmd --Package lirc-0.8.5-2.fc10.0.8.4a.i386 already installed and latest version Nothing to do [root@asrock ~]# lircmd --uinput lircmd: unrecognized option '--uinput' Usage: lircmd [options] [config-file] [root@asrock ~]# lircmd --version lircmd 0.8.4a [root@asrock ~]# There is a note in http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/fedora/updates/10/i386/lirc-0.8.5-2.fc10.0.8.4a.i386.html that says "* Sun Aug 30 2009 Jarod Wilson <ja...@re...> 0.8.5-2.fc10.0.8.4a - Cheat and release an "update" to 0.8.4a, since 0.8.5 isn't compatible with the lirc kernel drivers in the 2.6.27.x kernel that F10 looks like it'll be stuck on its entire lifespan" = = = = I'm not sure what the "cheat build" gives me but it doesnt give me "--uinput". Soooo ... has anyone got lircmd working in FC10? and with what method ? thanks Robert |
