Creating a remote file

Hi,

I recently used irrecord to configure my remote, this seems to require
two codes for each button.  I've now noticed that some of the buttons
need to be pressed twice to move once, so I must have some invalid
codes..  Is there any way of using the existing file to re-record just
the faulty buttons or do I have to re-do the whole thing?

If I have to re-do I'm concerned that I will miss other buttons

This is for a hauppauge remote that comes with the dvb-t cards, it's
the newer model but the config that worked on my myth server does not
work with my frontend??

Are the config files also specific to the receiver and remote?
