Hi I have a Creative Infra Remote. It works great in windows but i can't get it to work with lirc. I have a dual boot installation WindowsXp and Redhat linux. I installed lirc with no problem ( compiled it with the creative driver). The serial ports in linux (Redhat Fedora) are configured OK. Checked with setserial command ( The irq and port address are set correctly). Lirc creates his /dev's ok. No problem there. HERE'S the strange thing. I connect with minicom to the serial port where the receiver is attached ( with lircd stoped) and when i press a button on the Creative Remote nothing comes on screen. BUT if i press some button on my TV set remote caracters start comeing. And then if i press some button on the Creative remote caracters come up too , but only after starting minicom i press some button on the other remote( the tv remote). Strange. If i stop pressing buttons on any of the remotes for like 5 to 10 mins (with minicom started ofcorse), the problem comes again : i have to first to press a button on the tv remote , otherwise nothing comes from the Creative receiver on the serial port. If i use irrecord on the port where the receiver is on , i get the same. If i don't press a button on the tv remote , the receiver doesn't react to the creative remote. And after that , when i try to record with irrecord i get only "bad envelope" errors with the creative remote. Can some one help me pls ? The receiver is the only thing that makes me use windows. Everything else ( cdrw , tv-tunner , sound card , video card ) works great in linux. Thanks |
