Hello. You need to enable CONFIG_MODULE_UNLOAD in your kernel config. This option allows modules to be unloaded, but it is not enable be default (I think). Anyway, update your kernel config and try to compile again. I don't know about cli(), save_flags() and restore_flags()... are you compiling for SMP or single processor? If that problem persists I will try to figure it out. It compiles clean in my UP config. > Hi Chris! > >> Get the patch from https://profilo.dyndns.org/lirc/ > > I'm always getting "unknown symbol" errors from depmod when compiling > the modules: > ,---- > | WARNING: > /lib/modules/2.6.0-test9/kernel/drivers/char/lirc/lirc_serial.ko needs > unknown symbol cli > | WARNING: > /lib/modules/2.6.0-test9/kernel/drivers/char/lirc/lirc_serial.ko needs > unknown symbol restore_flags > | WARNING: > /lib/modules/2.6.0-test9/kernel/drivers/char/lirc/lirc_serial.ko needs > unknown symbol save_flags > | WARNING: > /lib/modules/2.6.0-test9/kernel/drivers/char/lirc/lirc_serial.ko needs > unknown symbol module_refcount > `---- > -- > Ciao, Sebastian > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program. > Does SourceForge.net help you be more productive?
