Can I use two remote controls at the same
I own two devices that came with remote
controls, a Hauppauge WinTV card, and a
Creative Extigy which both have Lirc
drivers. I can load them both, the first
one loaded claiming minor number 0. I
created /dev/lirc1 with minor number 1
to access the other remote. I can run
lircd and tell it to use the other device
file if I want to use the other remote,
but I can't seem to have lircd use both at
once. I have both the hauppauge remote
and the extigy remote concatenated into the
same file and both work fine, but only one at
a time. Since I can't run two lircd's at
the same time as they fight over /dev/lircd
how can I use both at once?
One idea I had was to modify lircd to use a
command-line option that disables /dev/lircd
and only use network, then have it talk to
the other lircd maybe, but I'm not sure if
that will do what I want.
I also may be aquiring a third remote
control device that's from a creative infra
cdrom, is this supported by lirc yet, cvs or
I sense much NT in you.
NT leads to Bluescreen.
Bluescreen leads to downtime.
Downtime leads to suffering.
NT is the path to the darkside.
Powerful Unix is.

YES ;-) I am using that remote with LIRC
Creative infra cdrom is on cvs - tested on x48 and x52 cdroms
