I am trying to get lirc working with my Sound Blaster Live! External USB
Lirc is supposed to use alsa_usb as a driver to work with my card, what I
I am running gentoo sources linux-2.6.17-gentoo-r8
Latest lirc for AMD64 that is in gentoo portage:
Latest alsa-driver in gentoo portage:
I have this line in my /etc/make.conf:
I have followed this guide:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_LIRC can't get past the section about
modprobing the driver...
Lirc seems to compile as supposed and it says that it is going to use
alsa_usb as a driver.
But it doesn't create any modules it seems. I can't modprobe anything to
get any devices in /dev/lirc.
I tried to change the LIRC_DEVICES="alsa_usb" to "serial" just to see if
it works differently. It did.
When compiling lirc with LIRC_DEVICES="serial" I got lirc_dev.ko and
lirc_serial.ko in /lib64/modules/2.6.17-gentoo-r8/misc.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Does anyone know how I will get the module
for alsa_usb? Is this a bug that needs a bug report?
Thanks in advance.
