Hi, Is it possible to use a non-streamzap remote with the streamzap usb IR receiver? If it is possible, how do I configure another remote to work? I have the streamzap remote working just fine. But, I have a Panasonic remote (specifically the N2QAYB000009) that I'd like to use with it if possible. The light on top of the ir receiver flashes if I press a button on the remote. Do I have to use a different driver? Thanks -Rob |

Irrecord didn't seem to work. When I tried it with the working remote, it gave me dots on each button press. With the new remote I don't get anything other than this error " irrecord: could not find gap. irrecord: gap not found, can't continue" which I'm guessing means it didn't read the signal from the remote. Any Ideas? Thanks, -Rob . On 09 Jul 2007 22:22:00 +0200, Christoph Bartelmus <li...@ba...> wrote: > Hi! > It should work. If it still does not work, try to use irrecord with some of the existing Panasonic config files as template. Christoph |

I've tried many times with several config files as templates with interesting results. For many of them irrecord seemed to be able to name and record the buttons. But, testing the config files (using irw) failed for all of them. Two profiles (which seem to have button layouts very similar to mine) EUR7702KE0 and EUR7702KF0 did something strange: Irw would show certain button presses if I first pressed a button called "level-test" and immediately followed it with another. Irw would properly list the second button. This only happened with a few buttons, the rest stayed silent. I'll keep on trying different configs as templates but it seems that this remote is a bit strange. Well, I have manged to generate a config file that almost works. Earlier I mentioned I could get a few buttons to work if I pressed a button called "level-test" and immediately followed it with the button I want to use. Now I have a config that works with every button as long as I do the magic button trick. I even got it working with Mythtv this way. Any ideas why this would be the case, any solutions?
