While barely on-topic I beg your assistance. I need a
remote config for a JBL Simply Cinema remote. Any of
them probably work but especially ESC200/300/330.
Mine is damaged, only 6 keys work. And it doesn't
control the unit very well on those buttons that do
work. Takes multiple presses and vigorous shaking. And
I don't want the dumb remote anyway, I want it's codes
Opening it up shows a Philips SAA3010 RC5 IR chip, but
irrecord detects it as RC6 (80% of the time) then
refuses to learn actual button presses after the
initial two rows of dots and it switches to toggle bit
detection... no dots appear and eventually it times
out with "I know RC6 has a toggle bit!" no matter how
fast or how long I press buttons.
There's two things constant: Always detected as
biphase, and always const length 113772. Everything
else varies, even RC5 or RC6. Sometimes I get lucky
and a random settings lets it get to the "name for the
next button" prompts, but it's always "Something went
wrong" when trying to learn them.
I loaded the full 2000+ RC5 file from remotes/philips/
directory, and irw doesn't show one recognized button.
I'm trying to get the specifics from JBL, I'm even
trying to get OneForAll to assist (because there's no
Pronto CCFs or OFA codes for this, specifically.)
The thing is brain-damaged. I'd hate to have to buy a
replacement remote just to learn the codes. IF it can
be learned at that.
Any assistance greatly appreciated!
note: it's _not_ a lirc issue. lircd works perfectly.
RC5 learning from non-damaged remotes works
perfectly... rc works too. It could be an unknown
protocol issue, a screwed-up remote issue, or both.
Thanks for reading.

Try "irrecord lirc-0.6.5/remotes/generic/RC-5.conf".
