Need ideas to debug this problem.
Environment: Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, LINUX kernel 2.6.24-19 Generic, MythTV
0.21+fixes, LIRC 0.8.1pre2, MCE USB IR receiver, ASUS P5B-VM MB, Pentium
4 processor (i386 architecture)
Problem: This machine is my primary front-end only (backend is
separate). When playing recordings or watching LiveTV, the remote will
sometimes fail to respond. Keyboard key presses are not ignored in this
state, which indicates to me the Myth FE process is responding (not
hung). Pressing ESC will return control back to MythTV's main menu and
things function normally again -- that is to say, IR events are
recognized. The problem is not consistent; it's random and occurs with
different recordings and different LiveTV channels and times. The
problem does not occur outside of Myth. For example, playing videos or
listening to music will function properly consistently.
I'm not sure what to do to isolate this problem. It seems to me to be
related to LIRC and not Myth's main program as the keyboard is
recognized. Ideas welcome.
