Here is the output from irrecord....

This program will record the signals from your remote control
and create a config file for lircd.
Please send the finished config files to <lirc@...> so that I
can make them available to others. Don't forget to put all information
that you can get about the remote control in the header of the file.
Press RETURN to continue.
Checking for toggle bit mask.
Please press an arbitrary button repeatedly as fast as possible.
Make sure you keep pressing the SAME button and that you DON'T HOLD
the button down!.
If you can't see any dots appear, then wait a bit between button presses.
Press RETURN to continue.
<I pressed "5" here>
No toggle bit mask found.
But I know for sure that RC6 has a toggle bit!

get the bar to move
Both times I've tried it's found different gaps - Don't know if that's a
cause for consern.
Then as soon as I push a button to record it says "Sorry, something went
It's a very very generic remote for a very generic cheap TV, I've seen
the same remote (or very very similar cos the case is identical) being
used on several other 'cheap' TV's
Is there something I can do to record this remote?
Perhaps someone can help me find the non-generic name for it, It's a
TEDELEX TV, the remote only has 50J1A in the bottom right on the front.
I've cracked it open looking for more useful information (crystal for
freq, etc) - not much there.
