I have a One-for-All URC-4640w/4605 remote that I bought from walmart today
and I am trying to setup lirc so that irw will recognize signals from it.
Using philips/VCR5 or philips/VR519 as my lircd.conf file, I get some key
recognition (POWER, a few numbers). However, I have to hold them down for a
very long time (15 seconds or so) before they are detected and no more than 2
repeats are detected.
Using irrecord, I am always forced into raw mode, with header being detected as
39 189 or 39 190, gap length ~113000, encoding unknown, repeat header unknown,
and supposedly the remote is a RC-6. The codes I record are then anywhere from
97 to 107 long. Even the same key recorded multiple times gives different
lengths. This does not seem normal to me.
Using mode2, I see occasionally long spaces of ~96000, which I believe to be
the gap, but I'm confused as to why irrecord detects the gap ~113000.
I've tried the one_for_all/ files also, but with similar luck as with the
philips files -- some keys are detected, but in a very flaky fashion. I have
tried various code settings on the remote itself as well.
Any suggestions as to how I may be able to get irw to detect keys consistently?
Thank you in advance,
