Do I have a chance to get the Tekram IR-mate 210B serial dongle work with=
I'm only finding few information about this.
I'm using the lirc 0.6.5-rpm provided by SuSE (8.1).
If I do the following steps:
1. deactivate IrDA (do I have this to do?)
2. setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none
3. modprobe lirc_sir io=3D0x2f8 irq=3D3
4. lircd [/etc/lircd.conf is there for my remote]
5. mode2 -- I see the feedback:
6. irw -- nothing happens
irrecord only makes lines like this:
and hangs at the toggle_bit - detection.
Can anybody help?
Thank you and bye

You should at least try to compile your own version of lirc_sir. I doubt
that the module provided by the rpm is compiled for the Tekram.
But in general I'd recommend not to waste much time with IrDA hardware.
Range will be very limited if it works at all, making it not much
