Hey everybody, I'm back. I have this tiny little creative PC-DVD
remote, which only has basic playback buttons, a number pad, power
button, and volume buttons. This really isn't enough for the programs I
am using (MythTV).
Is there anyway to have lirc recognize a sequence of keys? Even better,
is there anyway to recognize a shift key, or a "caps lock" key? Let me
clarify a bit.
My remote has arrow buttons in the middle of the numpad. I want to be
able to press the shift key and then any sequence of the number/arrow
keys(2,4,6,8) to move(up, left, right, down), and then press the shift
key again to resume normal operation of the number keys. Is this
possible? I know it's pretty ambitious. What about some kind of key
sequence where I press shift before each arrow key (less than ideal)?

i've got the same remote, if you want i can email you directly a copy of my config and everything, its not he most straight forward setup, i use the shift key to switch between applications and use the xosd programs to display a really crappy looking (but adequate) menu for selection. currently i've got setups for TV-Time (BEST TV APP EVER), mplayer (only controlling playback, can't really type on the commandline with it), Xine in DVD and VCD modes (really they are the same, just different commands to start them), and a single button setup that starts Xscreen saver (i lock my computer at night with it, especially after watching anime with mplayer)
