I have a Raspberry Pi set up with LIRC and have successfully used the Yamaha_RAV302 file from the archives to control my Yamaha receiver. I've also used irrecord to generate config files for the my Sanyo TV and a Sony Clock/Radio. Sadly, the Philips Blu-ray config I generated (Philips_NB540, attached) appears to do nothing. I also tried just recording the raw play and pause buttons (Philips_NB540_RAW, attached), but this config didn't work, either.

How should I proceed to troubleshoot this?

Hi!

You could try the irw command. See: http://www.lirc.org/html/install.html#testing and the irw manpage.
