It's a new major version of the XInput protocol in 7.3 so you'll have to compile it yourself to make it work at the moment. There's a compile error in 0.7.8-3 with Xorg 7.3 at the moment, patch [1] corrects this. Also, you might get errors about missing .h-files, but have a look at the Xorg 7.3 feature request [2] and see if that might help you out.
