Jim, In theory, xsetwacom set pad striplup "core button 4" and xsetwacom set pad stripldn "core button 5" should do the work. But, somehow, I don't know why, pad doesn't emit mouse event. I need people who has more X Input experience to help me out. Or wait until I have time to investigate it myself. This was an known issue.
