As already stated in bug http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1798174&group_id=69596&atid=525124 I'm having this weird issue with driver 0.7.8-p3. I've checked with xev and everything works fine except sometimes some ButtonM events are not caught. This results in no clicks and even no scroll wheel action.

This seems to be happening only with the cursor device since stylus and eraser appear to work flawlessly.

I'll attach my xorg.conf but it is not a big surprise since I followed both the guide in the linuxwacom web site and the guide from Gentoo's wiki (http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Wacom_Tablet).

Thanks

More informations: carefully examining xev output it seems that sometimes both press and releas events are not caught (or sent?) and sometimes just press or release comes.

    Sorry for the late reply.

First: Do you still have this problem? (Because I have the same problem with my touchpad so it could be that the events are swallowed or delayed by the xserver)

Update: I just tried version 0.7.9-p7 but, even if there seems to be a small improvement, still some events aren't caught.

Hello guys. I've just tried release 0.8.0 vanilla and there are some improvements but still some events aren't caught (including button clicks, wheel events...). No problem with the touchpad, though.

I'm submitting this release to Gentoo bugs to enlarge the tester base.

Andrea, can you try 0.8.1-6? What Xorg version are you running?

  • Hi, sorry for the delay. I'm currently running xorg-server-1.5.3 and the version of the driver I'm using right now is 0.8.2-1 which I just compiled.

I also noticed that sometimes some keystrokes on the keyboard don't get caught (much seldom than how often I lose release events for the wacom, indeed) so it may be possible that the responsible for this malfunctioning is indeed Xorg itself as initially pointed out by wigge.

A fix is made in 0.8.3. Refer to bug 2578477 for detail.
