I tried to set the pad button 1 to behave as a shift key with: xsetwacom set pad Button1 "CORE KEY SHIFT", but when I press the button the X server terminates:

xf86WcmSetButtonParam value = 1011ffe1 number of keys = 1
[pad] o_prox=false x=0 y=0 z=0 b=true b=256 tx=0 ty=0 wl=0 rot=0 th=0
[pad] rel prox=1 x=0 y=0 z=0 v3=0 v4=0 v5=0 id=0 serial=-1 button=true buttons=256
xf86WcmSendButtons buttons=256 for pad
sendAButton TPCButton(off) button=0 state=256 code=1011ffe1, for pad coreEvent=yes

Fatal server error:
Impossible keyboard event

When I tried to check the configuration, `xsetwacom get pad Button1` returned the correct key string "CORE KEY SHIFT".

linuxwacom-0.7.9-4, xorg-server-1.4.0.90.
