I have been told NetApp RPC quota and NFS implementation does work with (now default) stripped leading slash in NFSv4 path. See discussion around <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=668973#c8>. Is the heuristic to differentiate NFSv3 and v4 clients standardized or widely adopted by other implementations? Is there a mailing list or other place where RPC quota compatibility issues and protocol are discussed?
Otherwise, is good idea to have linux implementation implicitly different. Would it feasible to make the --no-mixed-pathnames configurable (at build time, at run time by global/user configuration file)?
