in addition to the problem described in Bug Report
956185, there is an additional one, when working
with Discs created with DirectCD under Win.
This problem is related to CD-R, DVD+R, DVD-R.
All discs were "closed" with DirectCD so no new
recording session is allowed.
Unlike the case with rewritable media (CD-RW,
DVD +/- RW) here ls does not display any errors.
It is also possible to cd into directories located on the
However there are problems when accessing larger files.
I have tried to copy several files with different sizes
from the CD/DVD to disk.
As long as the file size is <= 15 MB
everything is fine. If the Filesize is > 15 MB then there is
an I/O Error and the copy process is aborted. The
critical file size may vary from system to system. I have
tested it with a NEC 1300 multinorm DVD recorder and
Samsung DVD ROM with the same result.
OS is SuSE 9.1 (2.6 kerenl) 32 Bit
and UDF 0.9.8.1. Copying the same files (same media)
with previous SuSE versions (9.0 and 8.2 both with 2.4
kernel) and the same CED/DVD drives works perfectly
independent of the filesize.
Any suggestions ?
