NTFS 2.1.0a available for Linux kernel 2.4.20

The backport of the new NTFS driver (version 2.1.0a) is now available as a patch against linux-2.4.20. NTFS 2.1.0 offers file overwrite support without changes in file size thus allowing ntfs files to be mounted as loopback devices for example. This is just a change to the patch (for 2.4.19). The underlying NTFS code hasn't changed.

NTFS Support for RedHat 8.0 Users

RedHat 8.0 RPMs for NTFS support at: http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/redhat.html

RedHat install kernels that don't support NTFS. This has caused a lot of users a lot of hassle. Now there are RPMs for both of RedHat 8.0's kernels and every architecture. I will try and keep up with RedHat as they release new kernels.

This is my first attempt at large-scale cross-compilation, so if you can find
the time to tell me which version you used and how you got on, I would
appreciate it.... read more
