Hello I am using linux-iscsi-5.0.0.0.3rc6-363 initiator in linux and iscsitarget-0.4.11 as a target. My target is set on a static ip on a system that is located in other office. The target system is AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 248 with 8GB of ram and scsci drive as a target. The initiator machine is Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz with 512MB ram. When running initiator in linux I am able to connect to target and mount the drive to local system. But when I try to copy data to target the system slow down such that I can run application but cannot get the output of keyboard keys, if i am getting output of keys it is after long time. And after that also the data is not being copied to target. But when I try to copy data from target to local system it copies but at very slow speed. On the other hand when I am running iscsi initiator on Windows I can copy data from local system to target and vice versa, but in windows also the speed is too slow. It takes 10 minutes to copy 30 MB of data. Please anyone can explain why is it so, or whether Iam doing any mistake. In linux the configuration of iscsid file of initiator is as follow node.active_cnx = 1 node.startup = manual #node.session.auth.username = dima #node.session.auth.password = aloha node.session.timeo.replacement_timeout = 0 node.session.err_timeo.abort_timeout = 10 node.session.err_timeo.reset_timeout = 30 node.session.iscsi.InitialR2T = No node.session.iscsi.ImmediateData = Yes node.session.iscsi.FirstBurstLength = 262144 node.session.iscsi.MaxBurstLength = 16776192 node.session.iscsi.DefaultTime2Wait = 0 node.session.iscsi.DefaultTime2Retain = 0 node.session.iscsi.MaxConnections = 0 node.cnx[0].iscsi.HeaderDigest = None node.cnx[0].iscsi.DataDigest = None node.cnx[0].iscsi.MaxRecvDataSegmentLength = 65536 #discovery.sendtargets.auth.authmethod = CHAP #discovery.sendtargets.auth.username = dima #discovery.sendtargets.auth.password = aloha and configuration of ietd file of target is as follow Target iqn.2002-12.com.eastti.iet:storage.disk1.iet # Users, who can access this target # (no users means anyone can access the target) # IncomingUser joe secret # Logical Unit definition # You must define one logical unit at least. # Block devices, regular files, LVM, and RAID can be offered # to the initiators as a block device.
