Hello Translators, I am Guido Hornig (actXcellence), a smaller web- and e-Learning consultant from Germany, munich area. I want to help to translate limesurvey into German. I am using limesurvey for years now, and I do the support for some SME using it. I am very excited about the good work of the development team and I can offer some experience from maintaining LAMP Open Source applications like moodle and limesurvey. I started to translate the new wiki documentation, but I feel helpless, because there are som translations in GERMAN already, but they don't fit into the english. Because I couldn't find any documentation or translation guidelines, I suggest to add a wiki page with some best practice hints. - translate only or contribute also to the english version? - add some formatting templates? - end user or administrator? keep it on one page or start different chapters? - shorter pages and more links - or step by step tutorials on one page? Just to have a starting point, I added a discussion on http://manual.limesurvey.org/wiki/Talk:Translating_LimeSurvey -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Ihr Guido Hornig actxcellence Kirchstr. 4 82211 Herrsching t: +49 8152 909090 m: +49 176 91 363447 email: ho...@ac... |

Hello Denis, you are right. There is most available in German, but if Carsten and Marzi can concentrate on the code, they might be happy about some more help for updating the doc. How do you think about templates in the WIKI? I started some, but I have not experience translating them. We could add more to get a more sexy layout of the documentation. Try: {{Example|Text=This is an example}} {{QUOTE|Text=I love LimeSurvey}} And how they are used: http://manual.limesurvey.org/wiki/Special:MostLinkedTemplates Am 11.06.2013 12:38, schrieb Denis Chenu: > Hello Guido, > > Think Carsten and Mazi are German, then not sur documentaion are really > outdated :). > > I need french helper for doc too .... :snif: ... > > Denis > Le 09/06/2013 11:50, Guido Hornig a écrit : >> Hello Translators, [...] >> Because I couldn't find any documentation or translation guidelines, I >> suggest to add a wiki page with some best practice hints. >> >> - translate only or contribute also to the english version? >> - add some formatting templates? >> - end user or administrator? keep it on one page or start different >> chapters? >> - shorter pages and more links - or step by step tutorials on one page? >> >> Just to have a starting point, I added a discussion on >> http://manual.limesurvey.org/wiki/Talk:Translating_LimeSurvey >> >> >> >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> How ServiceNow helps IT people transform IT departments: >> 1. Hi Denis, excellent question. I will add the answer here in this page: http://manual.limesurvey.org/wiki/Creating,_editing_and_translating_LimeSurvey_Wiki_pages#Translating_pages in short: QS:some_thing are text patterns with its own name space 'QS' and can be translate as well. Do not translate them where they are used, but open the page QS:Answer_width and press translate. This will translate the single pattern and the translation is used in all questions types where {{ QS:Answer width}} is used. go to the search window and start typing QS: and you will see the list of all QS: templates. TEMPLATES for general use: But templates is a name space as well and you find some infos on the same page. Also at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Templates Am 11.06.2013 18:48, schrieb Denis Chenu: > Hello, > > You're right for Carsten, but Mazi is our first helper ;). > > I have some question too regarding translation. > > Think {{QS:answer_width}} are not to be translated, did i'm right ? > > Le 11/06/2013 16:54, Guido Hornig a écrit : >> Hello Denis, >> you are right.
