I just got information from a friend about Hackontest 2008 which is a
programming competition between teams of open source software
projects. It is being held on September 24/25 2008 in Zurich.
Any registered user can register a project on Hackontest site(34 OS
projects present at the moment) and can add feature requests(to be
implemented in 24 hrs by a team of three members). Users can rate
those features and finally three projects will be sorted out with most
On Sep 24/25 the selected team of the projects who have accepted to
implement the project will start coding and have a timeline of 24 hrs.
Then they will commit their code and will be evaluated by the jury.
More info on Hackontest at:
Main page: http://www.hackontest.org/
Benefits to limesurvey:
1. More Popularity as the event takes place at the OpenExpo where the
user community meets.
2. If selected a reward of $5000 to $1000 is awarded to the team along
with the paid trip to Zurich.
Are we willing to participate in Hackontest?
