I have some serious second thoughts about the setup procedure.
To do a basic install at the moment you have to use shell and pear
Both are very uncommon to webhosters: Getting a shell to execute the
'migrate' command and the ability to install special pear libraries is
difficult with/without shell access too.
Originally I thought that the YAML usage was native to cakePHP but it is
only used in the migrate module.
The migrate module is the only module to need the pear mdb2 library too.
I suggest we use the built in schema/model manager for installation of
cakePHP, although not as advanced it would be better to extend that one
instead of using a third party shell script which is creating the named
dependencies and which therefore complicates the installation alot for
We have to find anyway some kind of upgrade procedure that if fully
automatic and works with an interface button click (not! shell) and i
don't think that the migration shell script is the right way. I can
research on that.
