Hi Mayank (others LS2 developers may find useful information),

I've set 3768 to closed/won't fix. Since you've been working with PgSQL for quite a while now, hope you can test http://bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=3626 within limits of what works in LS2, i.e.
  • Adding, Deleting, Editing users, groups, announcements and assignments, including assigning/removing users from and to assignments and assignment groups must work perfectly. Use Firebug, the 'Net' tab to see if any JSON request fail. If so, you can simply go to /app/views/layout/json.ctp and change Configure::write('debug', 0); to Configure::write('debug', 2); to display errors, which you can view through the 'Net' tab of Firebug.
  • Survey Builder should support Date, Text and Single Select question types well.
  • You should be able to take a very simple survey. A single page survey is always guaranteed to work.
  • Dashboard should be fully functional
See anything suspicious, let me know. Good luck!

Hi Hai,
Sry i got disconnected due to technical reasons yesterday. So, what was ur say on tht design error. Do i leave it?? Also  I found the solution to bug 3768. Its just tht a lot of attributes havent been declared in qtloopcontainer_designs_controller. But dont have the default values of the attributes. How do i find out what each attribute is for so that i can put a valid default value ( What does ed mean??  ) ? Coz when i put some values that i thought were correct it produced an error of undefined constant value. Plz provide suggestions :) .

Hi Mayank,

great work on fixing this bug! I can't believe that CakePHP hasn't noticed this before. I believe there may be a similar problem with MSSQL but that's an entirely different story.

Take your time and good luck with your exams. Keep me updated on your progress ;)!

Hi Hai,
While working on the pgsql bug i told u abt tht day, i found the error to be in the fields function of dbo_postgres.php. However , Since i didnt know how cakephp was coded, I went to cakephp irc and asked for help and a cakephp guy called jose lorenzo rodriguez found it to be a limitation of dbo_postgres.php and asked me to post a ticket on lighthouse. I did and in a matter of a few hours he resolved the bug by adding an extra function _quotefield to dbo_postgres.php. So, using tht function i edited our dbo_postgres.php and committed as r8522. Now no such prob comes in pgsql. U can refer to it as bug #04246. Presently working on bugs 3553 and 3768 but tests till 31st so will be quite slow :( . Hope u find it ok. :)
