Hi everyone,

I just sent this around to the local universities in Melbourne (and I'll probably do some more around Australia during the week). Thought I'd send everyone the text I used in case that's helpful for anyone else who is spreading the word about LimeSurvey & GSoC. (Of course you should replace the bits about me, to something about yourself, being a local student etc.)

I attached the appropriate LimeSurvey GSoC Flyer.

Subject: Request to Put Up Notice for Google Summer of Code, LimeSurvey

Hi,

My name is Jason Cleeland, I'm the Project Founder and a lead developer for the Open Source Project Online Survey Tool called "LimeSurvey" (and also a Monash uni graduate).

Every year Google runs an event called the "Google Summer of Code", designed to coincide with the US summer break for uni students. The aim is for Google to help students, particularly in IT fields, gain real world experience in software development, and at the same time help Open Source projects like LimeSurvey attract new developers.

Students apply to Google to develop a project for one of the selected organisations. If they are succesfuly, they are assigned a mentor at that organisation, and over the course of 3 months complete a project. Google provide a stipend of $US4500 to the student when they succesfully complete the project.

LimeSurvey has been selected as one of the mentoring organisations, and student applications are open now.

I was hoping you may be able to print our attached flyer out and post it on a noticeboard for students at Monash to see in case they are interested in participating!

If you would like further information about the Google Summer of Code, you can find it here:

Thank you for any assistance you can offer, and please let me know if you have any questions!
