I am using liferea in gnome 3.4, with gnome-shell. If I enable notifications, the notifications I get are pretty much unusable. The icons look weird and blurry and the text is unreadable. Screenshot is attached. I don't have this issue with any other apps that use notifications in gnome-shell.

Forgot to mention, using lifera 1.8.7 in arch linux 64 bit.

The blurry images are caused by Liferea storing favicons only in 32x32 size. When scaled by gnome-shell they become blurry. I'm not sure how to solve the problem.

In your screenshot I see 3 strange areas with a dot inside. Are those buttons?

Note: As the only active developer I cannot test Liferea on all target platforms. Currently I test on Debian and Ubuntu both not using gnome-shell [yet].

This is in work now in git master. Tray icon handling has been isolated into a plugin that will use a scalable icon.
