read in gedcom attached to email, do a source search
for author 'todd'

search fails, quit from search and ka-boom assert.

    Problem is that in main_browse, after the call to
    prompt_for_browse, rec1 is null but seq is not -- seq is an
    empty sequence. This case is not expected or handled.
